In order to ensure the implementation of the decisions of the online meeting of the UNEC Scientific Council dated 31 May 2020, SC-172 and the online meeting of 14 September 2020, SC-173, on 19.10.2020, “Technology and design ”faculty was abolished and“ Digital economy ”faculty was established on its basis.

On October 19, 2020, the department of “Digital Technologies and Applied Informatics” was established at the Faculty of “Digital Economy”.

A “Laboratory Work Organization Center” has been established at UNEC to ensure effective management of the laboratories established under the “Engineering” and “Digital Economy” faculties.

The faculty of “Digital Economy” and its department closely cooperate with the universities of the republic and foreign countries: : Institute of Management and Information Technology of ANAS, High Technology Park , Prague Business School of the Czech Republic, University of Dunaújváros of Hungary and Mykolas Romeris University of Lithuania and Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, as well as Aligarh Muslim University of India and Karadeniz Technical University.
